But first, let’s make sure we fully understand what is website loading time?-It is the overall time taken for the opening of your website or webpage in the browser.

According to data from Google’s page speed insights, a website performance monitor, a page’s bounce rate can increase from 9% to a whopping 38% if its page load time increases from just 2 seconds to 5 seconds. This is because of lots more people “bounce” from your website during that three-second delay.

Just a few extra seconds could have a huge impacton your ability to engage your site visitors and make sales. This means thathaving a fast site is essential — not just for ranking well with Google, but for keeping your bottom-lineprofits high.

Do you still think that speeding up your website isn’t that important?

Think again.

Have you ever clicked a result in Google and had the pagetake AGES to load?

If you’re anything like me, then you probably do the same thing every singletime this happens: hit the back button and choose a different result.

Google knows that people do this, because slow‐loading pages are annoying, right?

The Factors which affects the loading time of your websites in 2019:- (SEO Course In Pune)

let’s get started. But what exactly does this ‘optimization’ process involve?

1.Minimize HTTP requests on your website

HTTP requests occur when your browser sends a “request” to your website’s server to access the information on a website or a webpage. Whenever a user visits a page on your website, your server gets this request and returns the files contained on that page to the user’s browser.

The most important thing is the user experience. It inspires visitors of your site, your blog, buys your products, or reach out for more information on your services.

The fewer HTTP requests a website has to make, the faster your site will load.

If you use Google Chrome, you canuse the browser’s Developer Tools to check exactly, how many HTTP requests yoursite makes.

For this open your site in chrome and Right-click on the page you want to analyze, and click “Inspect,” then click the “Network” tab. (If you don’t see the “Network” tab, you may need to expand the Developer Tools sidebar by dragging the left border to the left.)

The “Name” column shows all of thefiles on the page, the “Size” column shows the size of each file, and the“Time” column shows how long it takes to load each file.

In the bottom left corner, you’llalso see the number of total requests the site makes.

Reducing this number of requestswill speed up your site, look through your files and see if any areunnecessary.

2. Minify and combine your HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files.

Minification is the process of compression of your HTML, CSS and Javascript files which removes unnecessary characters, Whitespaces, and formatting in the source code. Doing it improves the overall site speed and accessibility, directly translating into a better user experience.

When you minify your website’s CSS, HTML, and Javascript files, you can save some valuable loading time of your site.

These are extremely important files, as they determine your site’s appearance. They also add to the number of requests your site makes every time a user visits it.

You can reduce this number by “minifying” and combining your files. Thisreduces the size of each file, as well as the total number of files.

Since every unnecessary piece of code adds to the size of your page, it’simportant that you eliminate extra spaces, line breaks, and indentation. Thisensures that your pages are as lean as possible.

Combining files is exactly what it means, If your site runs multiple CSS and JavaScript files, you can combine them into one.

If your site is in WordPress then you can use the plugin W3 Total Cache.

Activate and install W3 total cache.

Go to -> General Setting option-> Under minify section enable the minify option.

Go to -> minify option-> JS minify settings: click enable and under CSS minify settings: click on enable which will automatically remove unnecessary data from CSS, JS, feed, page and post HTML.

If your site is in Plain HTML-PHP:

You can use the tool CSS Minifier. Visit the site, you will find the input CSS option in which you can paste your CSS file code and click on minify. On the right side, you will see the minified output of your file. Use the same procedure for JS and HTML files.

3. Use Gzip Compression

Gzip is a software application used for file compression which reduces the page size and ensures the faster loading of your website.

How to enable GZIP?

If you are using the WordPress site, Use the plugin Wp Fastest Cache. Install and activate the plugin. Enable the Gzip option in settings.

If your site is in Plain HTML-PHP:

Enable Gzip compression via .htaccess file. Add below code to your .htaccess file :-

<ifModule mod_gzip.c>

mod_gzip_on Yes

mod_gzip_dechunk Yes

mod_gzip_item_include file .(html?|txt|css|js|php|pl)$

mod_gzip_item_include handler ^cgi-script$

mod_gzip_item_include mime ^text/.*

And mod_gzip_item_include mime ^application/x-javascript.*

mod_gzip_item_exclude mime ^image/.*

mod_gzip_item_exclude rspheader ^Content-Encoding:.*gzip.*

Save the .htaccess file and then revisit your webpage.

Check to see if your compression is working using the Gzip compression tool. If you are not using gzip compression, your webpages are likely slower than your competitors. It is necessary to speed up your website and Improve Conversion in 2020

4. CDN

A content delivery network or content distribution network (CDN) is a large distributed system of servers deployed in different locations to provide web content over a wide geographic area.

The idea is to offer several points of presence (PoPs) outside of the origin server.

Without CDN: When a CDN is not used all content will be delivered by a single origin server no matter the geographical location of the request. This means that if an origin server is located in India users coming from both Australia and Canada will receive content from the same single location. This will have a significant effect on the overall loading time.

With CDN: When a CDN is used all content will be delivered by the closest POP from the geographical location of the request. This means that even if an origin server is located in Switzerland users from Australia and Canada will receive content from different locations. The shortened physical distance between the requesting location and responding CDN edge server significantly decreases the overall loading time.

You can use the tool Cloudflare which will integrate your website and it will improve your loading time significantly.

5.Image Optimization

Image compression is the process of reducing the size of your images without losing its quality resolution. It plays an important in the loading time of your site.

I recommend you to optimize your site images before uploading it to your site. For this, you can use the plugin Tiny PNG.

It was the tips to speed up your website and Improve Conversion in 2020. So next time before you go to check your site in google page speed insights keep the above steps in handy.
